Volunteer in Ecuador

Yanapuma Foundation offers volunteering options in Quito and the rest of Ecuador in a variety of different projects through our "Volunteer Ecuador" programme. These are projects with selected communities and organizations that are achieving positive change and improving the lives of the poor and disadvantaged. Our aim is simply to connect willing and enthusiastic volunteers with reliable projects for mutual benefit. We charge a nominal fee for this service, with any profit going towards our own sustainable development work.

We offer options for working with:

  • children in schools and daycare centres, or with learning or physical disabilities,
  • animals in rescue centres in the Andean sierra or Amazon rainforest
  • environmental projects and ecological restoration
  • organic farms, reforestation and agricultural projects
  • community tourism projects
  • construction

We collaborate in Ecuador with a number of international universities, colleges, high schools and other organizations, receiving individual and group volunteers to work on programs that fall into the categories of Service Learning, Study Abroad, Global Citizenship, and Gap Year.

You can learn all about the different projects that we offer on the Volunteer pages of our main website.

If you have a special skill to offer but can't find anything to suit, please contact us and we will be happy to make suggestions.

We can also offer you Spanish classes at our school in Quito, or you can choose our Quito Volunteer Package which includes one month of Spanish classes and volunteering in Quito.
